Top 10 iPad Games

I had the iPad 1st gen for less than a year and now I have the iPad 2. I have had plenty of time to play games from all genres. Here are some of my favorites that I have been playing the most recently in no specific order.

1. Words with Friends HD $2.99

photo 1 (2)

This is by far the game I play the most on the iPad. It’s nice being able to have multiple games going at once. Currently I have about 7 games going and I can play back whenever I get the time to. If you have had an iPad for a while now or just got your iPad 2 you need to make this one of your top priority downloads!

2. Angry Birds HD/Angry Birds Seasons HD/Angry Birds RIO HD

photo 2 (2)

All three Angry Birds are also a must have for any iPad owner. There are so many levels to play and regular updates for all 3 games. Each game also has achievements to work for, highscore leader boards, and the challenge to find all the golden eggs as well as getting 3 stars on every level.

3. Fruit Ninja HD $2.99

photo 2 (3)

Fruit Ninja never seems to get old. You have single player where you try and cut as much fruit as you can without hitting bombs.  Then you have arcade mode where you are timed to see how many points you can rack up and lastly there is multiplayer mode. In this mode you can challenge friends over openfeint or game center, which ever you prefer.

4. Lego Harry Potter: Years 1-4  $4.99

photo 1 (3)

First off this is a universal app so if you have an iPhone or iTouch you can download it on both devices and play it wherever you are.  This is a full length game and will give you plenty of playing time. You can either control Harry by moving your finger around the screen or the way I prefer to play it is by the digital joystick that they added making it feel more like a console style of play. At a cheap price you can’t pass this up.

5. Infinity Blade $5.99

This is also a universal app which makes spending $6 that much easier. I never imagined a game for the iPad could have graphics like this. It is a really fun game with plenty of battle scenes and leveling up to do. It will impress anyone that gets to play it. It has also been optimized for the iPad 2 so it looks that much better and plays smoother as well.

6.  Air Attack HD $0.99

photo 3 (2)

If you have ever played the classic 1942 style games then you will instantly love this game. It has level after level and you can upgrade your plane to the battle the tougher bosses at the end of the levels. The plane control is very smooth and easy to move around.

7. Plants vs. Zombies HD $6.99

photo 3 (3)

I am sure most of you know what plants vs. zombies is by now. It is one of the greatest defense type games there is. You have to build up your army of plants to fend off the zombies from attacking your house.  At $7 it is definitely worth it, however if you are patient this game always goes on sale you can probably grab it for around $3.

8. Sword and Sworcery EP $4.99

If you love 8-bit point and click adventure games then waste no time in buying this. It has amazing visuals and music. There is no secret as to why this is rising to the top of the iPad app store. This is one of those games that you will love playing from start to finish.

9. Tiny Wings $0.99

photo 3

I know this isn’t an iPad game but I included it because I can’t put it down and also because it still looks good even in 2x resolution mode. It is very addicting and has plenty to work towards. You have to try and reach different objectives and some can be very difficult giving you plenty of gameplay.

10. Max and the Magic Marker HD $4.99

photo 2

You may already own this one because it has now been released on a few different platforms but it is one not to pass up. Electronic Arts picked this up and released it for IOS. I wasn’t sure about it but once I started playing it was actually pretty cool. It is a puzzle adventure game. You run through the game and when you come upon an obstacle you have to pull out your marker and draw a bridge, tower, boat, etc. to get passed. A good one for all ages.

Well I hoped you enjoyed my current top 10 list. I will be doing a top 10 fav. iPad app list next so be on the lookout. The iPad isn’t just fun for games but it can be used for so much more.

IOS 4.3.1 now available

It looks like IOS 4.3.1 is now available for download. Nothing too major to fix unless you have any of the four problems below. Sorry Verizon iphone owners you are still left in the dark.
-Fixes an occasional graphics glitch on iPod touch (4th generation)
-Resolves bugs related to activating and connecting to some cellular networks
-Fixes image flicker when using Apple Digital AV Adapter with some TVs
-Resolves an issue authenticating with some enterprise web services
iOS 4.3.1 is compatible with GSM iPhone 4 models only as well as the iPhone 3GS, iPad 1 and 2, and the third-and fourth-generation iPod touch models.

Select Universal if you want to make a copy for itouch or an ipod classic.
